If you’re looking for food, fun, and festivities for the whole family, the annual Fall Festival in Evansville, Indiana is right where you need to be! Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve attended the Fall Festival faithfully – each year, the first week of October. Once deemed the “second largest street festival in the U.S.” you can always count on large crowds, heavy traffic, and deep fried anything for miles!
This year marks the 97th festival since it’s start as a humble one night affair, consisting of mostly a parade and a few thousand people. Rides weren’t brought to the fair until 1940, and even so, only consisted of a Ferris Wheel, Merry-Go-Round & Mini Autos!
Since then, the festival has grown into what many families look forward to every single year. The festival kicks off the official start of fall for those in the tri-state area, and beyond! I’ve met folks who have traveled far and wide just to get a glimpse of our infamous festival. One of my favorite parts about the event is the food. Pretty much anything your heart desires can be found here for one week only, right smack dab in the middle of Franklin Street. There are over 136 food booths to choose from, and I’ve heard that the wait-list to have your own booth at the fest is up to 5 years! Partly because this event is a great money-maker for numerous area non-profits and beyond!
If you do have a chance to visit the fest, let me know how your experience was, and what you got to eat!

Corn Fritters with syrup every year possible! Started that tradition with my daddy when I was a young girl! It was his favorite as well 🙂
I can’t see anything because I’m looking at you. So very pretty with an all star personality. You Are a gift to all who are lucky enough to know you.
