Summer is always a great time to plan an itinerary of fun things that you’d love to experience with friends and family before the cold temps roll back around again! Saving money while making memories is always a plus, too! I’ve compiled a list of a few fun things to do this summer while on a budget, as well as some budget-friendly finds to keep you looking cute at the same time!
1. Wine trails
Chances are in America, no matter where you live, you’re in close proximity to a winery or even a wine trail! Here in Southern Indiana, we’re close to a few of these infamous wine trails, and they are a great activity when the weather is nice! One of my favorites is the Hoosier Wine Trail off I-64, which is home to over 5 local wineries. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and it makes for a super fun road trip that takes you right into Louisville, Ky! Even if you’re not much of a wine drinker, the entertainment and scenery throughout is enough to make this a fun summertime trip with friends!
cute budget friendly finds for the trails:
There’s honestly nothing more refreshing than scheduling some time out of your busy workday, or even making a weekend of, taking advantage of hiking in your area. Even better, this definitely counts as your workout for the day, and it doesn’t (usually) cost a dime! Take time to explore a state park near your hometown, or even local landmarks like rivers and lakes that may be close to where you are. In this society of being constantly “plugged in” take time to unplug and discover new heights with your friends and family this summer!
must have workout gear on a budget:
3. have a pool day
The sun is bright, it’s warm out, and there’s not a cloud in sight – the perfect recipe for a pool day! Take advantage of all of the warm days this summer by laying out by the pool (with plenty of SPF!) which typically doesn’t cost you a dime! If you don’t have a pool at your home, check out your local state park, country club, or even a nearby hotel! It’s the perfect season to work on your tan!
