Each year, my hubby never ceases to amaze me with his creativity and heart for giving. I had no idea what he had planned for Valentines Day and we didn’t really talk much about it until the week of – where I quickly learned it was going to be a “no questions asked” surprise date!
We started the day with a “lunch date” at Chick-fil-a on our way to a couples massage at Ahh Spa. It’s been a few years since we’ve done this, and I was so excited to get to go back! This spa always does a nice job of making us feel so special, and the setting is absolutely exquisite!
Once we finished with our massage, we headed home to get ready for an early dinner reservation at Sauced. I had always heard such good things about this quaint little restaurant in Haynie’s Corner. It’s an old historic home that the owners turned into a darling little restaurant, with a very romantic setting! The food was so delicious, and we will definitely be going back!
After dinner, we headed to our next stop – “something artsy.” I had an idea of what this was, and my suspicions ended up being right! Painting with a Twist is very popular here in Evansville, and it makes for such a fun date night. The painting of the evening was “Love Birds” and together, we completed two separate canvases to make up one beautiful picture! Painting with a Twist offers a wine and beer selection, so you can enjoy a beverage while you paint, which makes it unique and fun!
To end the night, we went to a movie at The Royal Suite. This is one of Evansville’s neatest entertainment centers, complete with reclining, cushy chairs and a personal waiter to bring you food and drinks during the movie.
It was such an amazing day, and I am so blessed to have an amazing husband like Nathaniel. He always makes me feel so special, and at the end of the day, we could have been sitting at home together doing nothing, and I know we would have had just as much fun. That’s when you know you’ve hit the jackpot! 🙂
I’d love to hear all about your Valentines Day! Feel free to leave a comment below.
