It’s times like this that I wish I had all the answers. All of the turmoil and unrest in our world right now has most of us feeling uneasy. Our entire “normal” was stripped away almost overnight.
What has brought me most peace during this time is knowing that I serve a powerful, mighty God, who hears our cry in times of distress and who can feel and empathize with our hurts.
He’s seen years and years of disease, famine, war, and so much more. Yet, He remains the same, yesterday, today, and forevermore. He is not moved. He does not change. He is still sovereign over all.
I encourage you to take this moment of “down time” to draw near to Him. He desires time with you. He wants to hear your worries, your fears, and your anxieties. Hand them to Him today. He loves you.
Moses reminds us in Psalm 91 what a powerful, protective God we have, and to take refuge in Him. The Lord also replies:
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him,
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
