I’ve always loved to see new places, but when you’re so close to some of the most popular places in the United States, sometime’s it’s easier to just take a little day trip and sight see! For our Anniversary this year, my hubby and I decided to take a quick trip to Nashville, TN to check out some places we’ve not been before.
We started the day at the Opry Mills, which in itself could easily take up a whole day during your trip if you wanted to. The mall is full of not only factory outlets and designer stores, but some super yummy restaurants, as well! Michael Kors was one of my first stops, and for my hubby, Polo Ralph Lauren! We were shocked at the amazing sales that were going on while we were there.
If you go to Opry Mills, you must check out the Smith Creek Moonshine Distillery and Tasting Bar. The moonshine is actually made right in the back of the store, and there is a bar area for all of the taste testing you could ever want. It is by far the best liqueur I have ever tasted. SO many different yummy flavors, and a really neat atmosphere! You cannot order online or find it in liquor stores, so stock up while you’re there! We went with the Salted Caramel and Apple Pie flavors.
Before dinner, we decided to stop for drinks at L^27, a rooftop lounge on top of the Westin downtown. The views were amazing, and it was really neat to check out the infinity pool that literally hangs off the building, although, we didn’t get a chance to jump in.
Within walking distance was The Melting Pot, which was our pick for dinner. I was really excited to have the opportunity to finally try this restaurant since I’ve heard so much about it! It is a little pricey, so keep that in mind, but it was well worth it! The entire dining experience was so neat to be able to make our dinner right in front of us at our table! The food was incredible, and the experience was definitely one that I won’t forget. We will definitely be back!
Another must see in downtown Nashville is Broadway. The street is lined with any type of bar you could imagine, including Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar. I always love seeing all of the musicians performing along the strip, and all of the different types of people you encounter while there. So much fun.
Have you ever been to Nashville? Let me know in the comments below. I’d love to hear your suggestions for must-see places when we go back!
